Piece of Curb

Piece of Curb

An urban amalgam, a hunk of discarded handicap curbiture, adorned with fresh asphalt, was recovered at the corner of Park and E 21st street in Oakland in July 2015. This curb is a symbol of the nexus between new and old Oakland.

As the era of deteriorating infrastructure comes to a close again (the result of years of seismic shifts from the Hayward Fault and general neglect), we can clearly identify that many collective political, philosophical and existential idealizations are on the brink of being realized yet at the cost of a topography residences had grown to live with.

Be the bearer of a history with an immortal icon,as plates continue to fault and shift into the unknowable shape of the future.
